I’m taking part in Walk for Epilepsy because...

On the 1st of July 2022, Jonte had successful brain surgery at Perth Childrens Hospital and has not had any seizure activity since then! Jonte has been off anti-seizure medication for just over 6 months now & is a healthy & happy 14 year old!
What we are grateful for: family, friends, friends that are family, new friends made through our epilepsy journey (shout out to Kate Mitchell from The Darcy Effect), Esperance District Hospital, Perth Childrens Hospital, the love & support from Condingup PS & Esperance SHS, the rainbow bridge from PCH to Kings Park (for a country family to have quick & easy access to beautiful & calming Kings Park it is so wonderful), Esperance Hockey Association for the never-ending support & love shown to us all, our Furies hockey family for supporting Benchie & taking Jonte into their wing this season (hockey is everything to Jonte), & of course Jonte's kind & caring Epileptologist Professor Lakshmi Nagarajan, an amazing woman!
