I’m taking part in Walk for Epilepsy because...
I want to help create moments of understanding, reassurance, and support for the 1 in 25 Australians diagnosed with epilepsy in their lifetime.
In 2022 Milly was diagnosed with epilepsy. The last 4 years have been challenging for her, and us as a family. We have seen first-hand the impact epilepsy can have - not just through tonic-clonic nocturnal seizures, but through the fear, isolation and challenges that can come with them.
On several occasions I have contacted Epilepsy Queensland for advice and assistance (and before we moved, the Epilepsy Foundation in NSW). These organizations listen and provide help & resources to those who need to create a new path forward.
