I’m taking part in The Walk for Epilepsy Fundraiser
Hi all,
I’m taking part in the Walk (Ride/Run) for Epilepsy this year for all of us who live with Epilepsy and for all of our incredibly strong support people.
As someone who was diagnosed with Drug Resistant Epilepsy at the age of 14, I understand the daily struggles it can bring and the forever battle between hope and acceptance. However, the condition does not only impact our own lives, but also the lives of our loved ones.
I am now the incredibly blessed mother of a beautiful baby boy and it hurts my heart to know what he and my close ones go through on a daily basis to help me. So I constantly remind myself of their strength, which in turn strengthens me.
So, I walk for my son, for my family, for my friends who have all supported me endlessly throughout this journey; and I walk for future generations and for the entire Epilepsy community, so that one day we can find some answers and eventually a cure.
With further awareness created from your support in fundraisers such as this, it allows for funding for the right resources, progress in research for future prevention programmes, clinical trials and more.
Between the 1st - 25th of October I am going to walk/run 100km and with your help, hope to raise up to $1000. You can help by donating whatever you like ~ big or small, it all helps ~ just press the 'Donate' button.
