I’m taking part in Walk for Epilepsy around Australia because...

I want to raise money and make a difference for people living with epilepsy. Please help me by giving whatever you can using the 'Donate' button. 

I am aiming to walk 504km to symbolise the distance families must travel to get the care they need. 

It is 504km round trip from our little farm to the QCH to get Sidney the help he needs and I can only imagine what it is like for those who must have even further to go.

Hello wonderful people who are following along, I’ve had to lower my km goal as all my time and energy is currently being spent drought feeding cattle - and the free time I would usually get when Tim is home from work has also been taken away while he is doing overtime to pay for increasing cattle feed as the drought continues. So I have aimed for 252km as that is much more achievable and is still the distance from home to the QCH. Thankyou so much to everyone who has followed along and walked with me, donated, shared my page and reached out - the care, support and kindness has really blown me away. Thankyou all ❤️

Hello there, 
I’m raising money for Epilepsy as the mum to a brave little boy who is still waiting to find the right thing to cure his refractory epilepsy. Being thrown in the deep end doesn’t begin to describe 2023 as we had been lucky enough to never had any sort of medical events in our lives. Numerous medicines, blood tests, multiple MRI’s and EEGs, a lumbar puncture and we are still waiting to find the right thing to stop his seizure activity and get him back into the busy little farm boy he was. It’s hard to give him answers when we don’t know. Perhaps the hardest part is his confusion as to why he can’t swim like he did, ride his bike, teeter up high branches like he once did. His hurt at the betrayal of his body which is victim to being repeatedly hurt by drop seizures, bumps, bruises, cuts and dead teeth. This is just a glimpse into his reality at the moment. Prior to this year I had no knowledge of Epilepsy so I am really hoping this fundraiser will help educate others. I am also walking 504km as that is the round trip distance from our little farm in the South Burnett to the QLD Children’s Hospital. Thanks for your support.
