I’m taking part in Walk for Epilepsy because...
Earlier this year, my partner Dillon was diagnosed with frontal lobe epilepsy caused by a cavernoma in his brain. Before the diagnosis Dillon was experiencing a series of daily focal aware seizures, which significantly impacted his life and left us and others worried about his health. After months of seeing various doctors and specialists, Dillon was finally diagnosed with frontal lobe epilepsy caused by a cavernoma in his brain. These episodes/Seizures have been a challenging part of our lives, and we are now on a journey to manage his condition.
Epilepsy has also touched my life in a deeply personal way. My much-loved cousin JJ tragically passed away at the age of 19 due to epilepsy. His loss has left a profound void in our family and further fueled my commitment to this cause.
I’m participating in the Walk for Epilepsy to honor Dillon, JJ and everyone affected by this challenging condition. My goal is to raise awareness and funds to support research and services for those living with epilepsy. Your support will help make a difference in the lives of countless individuals and families navigating this journey.
