Iâm taking part in Walk for Epilepsy because...
The purpose for this years walk is different for me this year.My son Angus got diagnosed with Epilepsy in  July 2023, his first seizure was in the car going to our nephews funeral. There was a minute or so where we thought he died going to our nephews funeral.the feelings and emotions remain real and raw to this day. We had multiple seizures hospital stays appointments that everyone here knows too well. Fast forward we are on track to be seizure free by November which means my 16 year old should be able to get his Ls something we have been working on. This years walk is about gratitude. Gratitude for the progress we have made, gratitude for all the research into medication, treatment options that has allowed to heal. This is also my chance to stand in solidarity with those who are in the trenches battling the epilepsy beast. We are all warriors who have walked this path who continue to walk this path and I hope by raising some money it will go towards raising funds and awareness for those who walk this path in hope that a cure and better treatment plans are possible.Â
If you can donate please do, itâs such a worthwhile cause. You never know who is battling epilepsy and more importantly you never know when this beast will strike.Â
