I’m taking part in Walk for Epilepsy because...
When my son was 8, my world changed overnight. He was diagnosed with benign Rolandic epilepsy, a rare form of nocturnal epilepsy, and it was an absolute shock for me.
The journey that followed was emotionally and mentally challenging. I often felt like I was holding myself together just to get through the next day. I learned to take one day at a time, one step at a time, and never lose hope.
After two years of medication, I finally reached a beautiful milestone. My son has recovered and is doing well. He will continue to be monitored until he turns 13, but today, I am incredibly grateful for how far he has come.
I will forever be thankful to the medical professionals who cared for him, my family and friends who supported me throughout this journey. Without all of you, this journey would have been so much harder.
Now, I want to give back.
I want to turn the support and kindness I received into something meaningful for others in the community. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, can make a difference.
Let’s keep this going. Let’s make these funds meaningful, support those who need it, and remind people that they are not alone.
