I’m taking part in Walk for Epilepsy because...

Ive been managing life with epilepsy and recurring seizures since I was a child, with it making a full comeback at 18. 

Since then I've been in hospital over 20 times, including the ICU where I was put into an induced coma to prevent my death. 

My most recent visit came from losing consciousness after a shower; I struck my temple, arm, ribs, hip, and mouth, causing me to lose a tooth, and also significant bruising. 

I am trialing my fifth, different medication, something that wouldn't be possible without continued research and support, especially for people like me where there is no clear medical cause for the seizures, making it incredibly hard to treat and manage. 

1 in 25 people will experience a seizure in their lifetime. 

1 in every 1000 seizures will cause SUDEP - Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy.

I want to raise money and make a difference for people, like myself, living with epilepsy.
