Saturday 7th Oct Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated here or walked with me on this first week of Walk For Epilepsy Month. Sunday 1st OctToday is the 1st of October which means, I will be taking part in “Walk for epilepsy” month. By walking and tracking my Ks each day. I am wanting to raise money to help the epilepsy foundation to continue to provide assistance, advocacy and support in many ways to those living with epilepsy and their family’s.
The statistics show that 1 in 25 people will develop epilepsy in their lifetime.
The more I educate myself on epilepsy by reading, following, watching and living aside an epilepsy warrior it has become evident and proven to me that epilepsy is costly (there are no NDIS payments and or health care cards for every case to assist) exhausting, lonely, stigmatised (Yes in 2023 some individuals have still not evolved) and really, really hard for those with the disorder and those caring for their beloved epilepsy warriors. The help, advice, training, emotional support and care is all FREE to those with epilepsy and their family’s at times when they need to contact the Epilepsy Foundation.

**Because I am making this post “public” by allowing other friends/family to share to help spread the word on their social media platforms also, I am trying to protect my epilepsy warrior by not mentioning “their” name. As yes, sadly I have fallen victim to the stigma attached previously in a public place and it’s not something I am ready to be emotionally available for at this time in our journey.
