Why I’m walking for epilepsy...

I’m taking part in Walk for Epilepsy again this year for my daughter, Charlotte.

Epilepsy has been part of Charlotte’s life for many years. We have seen seizures that were easy to miss, frightening clusters, ambulance trips, hospital admissions and days supported by a ventilator in intensive care. Through it all, Charlotte continues to show extraordinary strength and resilience.

This year’s Walk for Epilepsy theme is Moving for the Moments.

That phrase hits home hard. In Charlotte’s early years, while we were still coming to understand her epilepsy, her seizures were often described as:

ā€œShe’s just had a little moment.ā€

We now know those ā€œlittle momentsā€ were seizures. They were signs of something much bigger—something that would change Charlotte’s life and our family forever.

So this year, I’m moving for different moments:

šŸ¦øā€ā™€ļø Moments of resilience.

šŸ™ Moments of hope.

ā˜• Moments of connection.

šŸ Moments of progress.

I'm moving for Charlotte's moments—and to build genuine understanding of epilepsy.

Every step, donation and conversation helps bring epilepsy out of the shadows. Together, we can move toward a future where nobody faces it alone.
