Walking for Epilepsy – Why I’m Taking Part
This year, I’m taking part in the Walk for Epilepsy to raise funds for the Epilepsy Foundation. This is a cause close to my heart. Epilepsy affects over 250,000 Australians, and every one of those people has a story – often with challenges that go unseen.
The Epilepsy Foundation is there to provide support, education, and research to improve the lives of those living with epilepsy and their families. Their work helps ensure that people aren’t left to navigate this condition alone.
Why I’m Walking
For many people with epilepsy, life can be unpredictable. It’s not just about seizures – it’s the constant balancing act of managing health, work, and family while dealing with the uncertainty the condition brings. The more we can raise awareness and provide resources, the better the chances of helping people live the life they want.
By joining this walk, I want to help fund more services, more education, and more research so that fewer families have to struggle through this without the right support.

I’m aiming to raise as much as I can for the Epilepsy Foundation. Your donation will go directly towards helping people living with epilepsy – from providing emergency support, to training teachers and workplaces, to funding research that could lead to better treatments.

Saturday 20th SepI just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated and shown support so far. I’m incredibly grateful and honestly quite moved to see how many people are behind us—it means more than I can put into words.
The Epilepsy Foundation has given us invaluable support over the past year, and being able to give something back through this fundraiser feels really special. Watching the donations grow is a huge boost to my motivation as I prepare to take on the 100km challenge. It’s not going to be easy, but knowing I’m doing it for such an important cause, and with so many of you cheering me on, makes all the difference.
