Fitness Tips

Walk for Epilepsy is a great way to have fun, get fit and raise vital funds for Epilepsy

Before you start your new exercise regime, please make sure you consult with a doctor and/or fitness instructor. They can advise you how to exercise safely and effectively.

Have fun

The Walk for Epilepsy is about making fundraising fun! To keep motivated, do activities that you enjoy and are happy to get out of bed for.  If you are getting bored with your routine, try a different route or set your own daily challenges.

Warm up

Warming up is one of the most important things you can do to avoid injury. Get your muscles moving and blood circulating, especially if you're going to be running or walking long distances. Make sure to stretch and drink water before you head off too!

Nice and easy

Set yourself achievable goals so that you keep going and don’t give up. Remember, this isn't a competition - every contribution counts

Gradual fitness

Build your training up gradually to avoid injury, burnout or boredom!

Shoes

Professionally fitted footwear can improve your posture, how you move and the impact on your body.
