I’m supporting Walk for Epilepsy because...

This Early October I'll be undertaking an sEEG procedure, an invasive brain procedure that utilises deep brain electrodes to capture epileptic data that cannot be caught with a non-surgical EEG. This procedure will (hopefully!) map the areas of my brain causing seizures, and help guide the next step regarding surgery. There is also potential for a remedial aspect to this procedure with the utilisation of thermoablation at the source of seizure activity -- but we'll see when we get there! The procedure is at least a week long and I definitely won't be walking, so I'll have to support from the sidelines this year!

I would love if 1) more people can learn about this sEEG procedure, epilepsy, and neurological disorders in general, and 2) that we can raise funds for Epilepsy Australia in support of my surgery and Walk For Epilepsy 2025. So please do donate if you can, and please do take the month of October to walk for Epilepsy in my place!
