I’m taking part in Walk for Epilepsy around Australia because ...

“Stella lights up the room with her infectious smile and cheeky personality. She shows incredible resilience and strength everyday, and in her short two years has endured more hurdles than most of us encounter in a life time. 

Stella was diagnosed with a super rare disability NEXMIF encephalopathy involving a number of challenges, but the most debilitating for Stella is Developmental Epilepsy, which we are still yet to gain seizure control despite Maddie & Mitchell’s (Stella’s incredible parents) relentless efforts of advocacy for Stella. This involves 5 different anti-epileptic medications, a ketogenic diet and rescue meds. One of Stella’s biggest hurdles is, at 2 years of age she is still not walking due to her seizure activity holding her back from exploring her world the way every child her age should be able to.”

So, in an effort to raise funds and most importantly awareness for Epilepsy, I am going to endeavour to walk 60km for our beautiful Stella 💜
