My Updates

The 2nd Big seizure, May 5

Saturday 16th Sep
It was around 7am, when I called the girls to the dining table for breakfast and as I watched Evie get on her chair she stopped. Facing away from me her head began to turn slowly and no other body part followed, until she was looking over her right shoulder, then the top of her body followed, until she completed approx 275 degree turn.

As the last time, I picked her up, but her body was not twitching like the tonic clonic seizure she previously had. I carried her to my bed and filmed it for 25 seconds before calling 000

Ambulance came and we went to the hospital.

Prince Charles Public Hospital were wonderful as they checked her over and her GP also listened to my concerns and sent referrals to neurologists both public and private.

The first tonic clonic seizure

Saturday 26th Aug
Seizure trigger warning:

It was April 16 2023, and I had just gotten the girls breakfast. Evie ran over to the dining table knelt on her knees on the dining chair and was frozen, eyes to the left.

I thought she was being silly but as I touched her I realised her whole body was stiff and then she began twitching.

I have heard some people say to film the episode and call 000. I carried her to the safety of my bed and called 000.

When the seizure stopped around 3 minutes later she was sleepy and non-verbal.
I was so worried that the seizure had impacted her ability to speak. It wasn't until the ambulance Dr called and advised this can happen after a seizure did that help cease my concern.
When the paramedics arrived Evie did two large vomits and was checked over before being transferred to Prince Charles Energency Paediatric Unit.

They took care, checking her over, and she was okay, with one of her pupils being enlarged.

We were released with advice that it may be her first and final as some children have only one, or she may have more seizures...

It happened, Evie was the latter.
