Team Mason – Walking for 1 in 25

Mason was diagnosed with epilepsy at just 7 years old. More recently, her journey has taken a new turn with a diagnosis of Sunflower Syndrome, a rare and often misunderstood form of epilepsy. Navigating medication side effects, ongoing seizures, and the shift from paediatric to adult neurology has been tough — but Mason faces it all with courage and determination.

She doesn’t let epilepsy define her. Mason is heading to Scotland with her school pipe band, proudly representing her school and country. She plays footy for the Redan Under 19s and volunteers as the trainer for the younger age groups, showing her commitment to the club and her community.

A passionate Geelong Cats supporter, Mason dreams of becoming a nurse — to use her experiences to make a real difference in the lives of others.

We walk for Mason, and the 1 in 25 Australians living with epilepsy. We walk for better understanding, more research, and a future where epilepsy doesn’t stand in the way of young people chasing their dreams. Team Mason walks with hope, pride, and love.
