My Updates

My Past Year

Saturday 31st Aug
Im walking for epilepsy to help raise money and awareness for people just like me with Epilespy’s
If you are able to donate or share it would be very much appreciated.

My Epilepsy Journey over the past year!

💜I had a Tonic Clonic Seizure after being off anti-seizure medications for 2 years
💜I begun a new medication Keppra
💜I lost my independence and drivers license
💜My EEG picked up that I have generalise spikes in my temporal lobes, which causes seizures
💜I had my first obvious absent seizure (we think they may of been happening prior to a diagnosis)
💜After 6months and 2 absent seizures I got my license back.
💜2months later I had another absent seizure, loosing my license for another 3months and upping my medication dosage
💜I participated in a genetic testing trial in relation to my medication keppra
💜I built a beautiful relationship with another little girl who also has epilepsy, she is a mini me and so strong to be going through what she is at a young age.

I realised how lucky I am to be as stable as I am. It has been really hard over this past year. However at this stage I am able to remain stable as long as I manage my stress and remain consistent with my medication. For others this is not the case. I think about hard it has been for me to manage my epilepsy and how much it has affected me and my family. I can only begin to imagine how much Epilepsy affects other people and children who may not be as stable. How tired, exhausted and scared the parents of children with epilepsy would be.

💜So for me this is why I really want to raise money and awareness about epilepsy!

💜Last year I was able to walk 25km and raise over $500. This year I have set my goal to walk $30km and raise $650. Although I have been having some issues with my calves and ankle I plan to try and walk or ride as much as possible
