In honour of Glenn Hamill
The Epilepsy Foundation is a cause very close to my heart.
My brother Glenn's journey with epilepsy ended tragically on 20th December 2023 at only 26 years old due to Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP), a condition we were unaware of until his passing. Having only been diagnosed with epilepsy 2 years earlier, it was still new to us and the risk of SUDEP was never spoken about. Shockingly, 1 in 1000 people diagnosed with epilepsy succumb to SUDEP yet there is very little awareness about it or funding for research into why it happens.
I have set myself a challenge to cover 200km between 1-25 October in honour of Glenn's memory. I miss my little (big) brother so much and there’s not a second that goes by that I’m not thinking about him and wishing that he was still here.
Through this effort, I am aiming to raise awareness and funds for SUDEP research, with the hope that maybe one day other families won’t have to experience what we have.

Friday 25th OctMy goal was to raise $500 and walk, ride and run 200kms in 25 days for the 1 in 25 people who are diagnosed with epilepsy. But my deeper purpose was to raise awareness about SUDEP.
A huge thank you to everyone for your incredible support and donations. We raised far more than I ever expected, and I am truly grateful! With very sore legs, I’m super proud of myself for pushing my limits and covering 206km in 25 days. I felt Glenn with me every step, which made the experience even more special. With each km I clocked, I thought of Glenn, listened to songs that remind me of him, and imagined the conversations we would have if he were still here.
I miss you everyday bro, thank you for guiding me on this journey and getting me to the finish line. I promise to keep walking with you, sharing your story and raising awareness because you deserve to be remembered ❤️💔
