My Updates

And I did it!

Thursday 24th Oct
100km in 25 days! I made the distance and passed my fund-raising target.
1 in 25 people are diagnosed with epilepsy at some point in life and these funds will now support them and go towards further research.
Thanks for your support.

Little by little

Wednesday 23rd Oct
While plans don't always eventuate, you have to make the most of opportunities. Today there was a detour to walk the dog as junior has succumbed to a virus.
Not quite there but only 2km to reach 100!

Yard duty #2

Monday 21st Oct
Today it was laps of the basketball courts and the grassy area where they play footy. Another 2 km done.

Back on the path.

Saturday 19th Oct
It appears that knees and speed don't go well together. This led to a couple of days rest and recuperation. But today, as the rain stops, I was back to it.
I am now over 80% done with 6 days to go. I will get there as tis cause is important to me and all those others living with epilepsy.

Slow and steady

Wednesday 16th Oct
Today was a lovely walk through Lancefield. I really enjoyed the peace and birdsong, the trees and animals (cows and horses) that I passed along the way.
It was slower than I have been but I don't think that really means.

Dog sitting has advantages

Sunday 13th Oct
Today I had 2 companions to start my walk. Dog sitting means 2 walks per day. They might not be so long for him, but they will defiaddto my total.

Yard duty

Friday 11th Oct
An opportunity to walk some steps rather than just standing around.
A proper walk later but 2km now was a good effort 👌

Life

Thursday 10th Oct
Life does seem to get in the way of getting things done - or I let it.
Work, meal prep, traffic all put pressure on doing what I would like to do. Self care - walking, reading, painting or knitting  -  are important but seem to get pushed aside too easily.

Evening walk

Monday 7th Oct
There are advantages to daylight saving, one being that it is light enough to walk in the evening. Thankfully the rain stayed away for us.🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

Time to walk

Sunday 6th Oct
Life, somehow, seems to get in the way of letting me do what I want. Making time to complete this challenge will be a start for me making time to do something positive and beneficial for me and others.
I can't let work - even housework  - get in my way.

Company

Thursday 3rd Oct
A second walk today. Great to have  Fazzman out and about to enjoy the evening sun.

And we're off!

Wednesday 2nd Oct
I might be a day late starting but I have now started walking. A beautiful day for it, sunshine, blue skies and no wind.
Day 2: The challenge for me is to keep dedicating time to walk. Holidays and fine weather make it easy. Another 4km added to the journey, walkinng the local neighbourhood.
