I’m taking part in Walk for Epilepsy because..of my Sophie
I am raising funds for the epilepsy community in honor of my one and a half year-old daughter who has developmental epileptic encephalopathy. Her journey has been filled with challenges, from battling Global developmental delay to daily seizures. Despite being on nine different medications, including keto, she continues to fight bravely. She is my warrior, my inspiration, and a reminder of the strength within us all. Join me in supporting the epilepsy community and helping to find a cure for this debilitating condition. Together, we can make a difference.

My Sophie
Monday 23rd Sep My Sophie experienced her first seizure at just six weeks old, but at the time, I didn’t recognize it for what it was because it didn’t resemble the dramatic portrayals you often see in movies. There really needs to be more education surrounding infant and newborn epilepsy. It took me three long weeks to realize what was actually happening. Awareness is crucial!
